Description

A rich and aromatic tart combining the sweetness of pears with spiced chocolate for a perfect winter dessert.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tbsp ice water
  • 3 ripe pears, peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix flour, butter, and sugar until crumbly. Add egg yolk and ice water to form dough.
  3. Roll out the dough and press into a tart pan. Chill for 15 minutes.
  4. Blind bake the crust for 10 minutes. Remove weights and bake 5 more minutes.
  5. Toss pear slices with lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
  6. Arrange pears over the crust. Sprinkle chocolate pieces on top.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden. Cool before serving.

Notes

  • Use firm pears for best texture.
  • Chill dough to prevent shrinking.
  • Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
