Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. Melt butter in a saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla.
  4. Sift together flour, cocoa powder, cinnamon, cayenne, and salt. Gradually mix into the butter mixture.
  5. Spread batter evenly in the prepared pan.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Cool before cutting into squares.
