Description

Rich and creamy chocolate dessert served in individual jars.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 5 oz dark chocolate (70% cocoa), chopped
  • 4 large egg yolks
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. Heat cream and milk in a saucepan until steaming (do not boil).
  3. Whisk egg yolks, sugar, vanilla, and salt in a bowl.
  4. Slowly pour hot cream mixture into egg mixture while whisking.
  5. Add chopped chocolate and stir until fully melted.
  6. Strain mixture through a fine sieve into jars.
  7. Place jars in a baking dish and fill dish with hot water halfway up the jars.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes until set but slightly jiggly in center.
  9. Chill for at least 4 hours before serving.

Notes

  • Use high-quality chocolate for best results.
  • Can be made 2 days ahead.
  • Top with whipped cream or berries before serving.
