Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1 3/4 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 large egg whites
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 4 oz dark chocolate, chopped
  • Red food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Sift almond flour and powdered sugar together.
  2. Beat egg whites until foamy, then gradually add granulated sugar until stiff peaks form.
  3. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the meringue.
  4. Pipe heart-shaped macarons onto a baking sheet and let them rest for 30 minutes.
  5. Bake at 300°F (150°C) for 15-18 minutes.
  6. Heat heavy cream, pour over chopped chocolate, and stir until smooth for the ganache.
  7. Once macarons are cooled, sandwich them with ganache.
