Description

A rich and creamy chocolate pudding that’s easy to make at home.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 3/4 cups whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, whisk together sugar, cocoa powder, cornstarch, and salt.
  2. Gradually whisk in milk until smooth.
  3. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and boils.
  4. Reduce heat and simmer for 1 minute, still stirring.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in butter and vanilla.
  6. Pour into serving dishes and chill for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

  • For a thicker pudding, increase cornstarch by 1 tablespoon.
  • Use dark cocoa powder for a deeper chocolate flavor.
