Instructions
- In a saucepan, whisk sugar, cornstarch, and salt.
- Gradually stir in milk and cook over medium heat until thickened.
- Slowly add a small amount of hot mixture to egg yolks, then return all to the pan.
- Cook and stir for 2 minutes until thickened.
- Remove from heat and stir in chocolate, butter, and vanilla until smooth.
- Pour into the baked pie crust and chill for at least 4 hours.
- Top with whipped cream before serving.
