Delicious chocolate cherry cookies with a soft center and rich flavor.
Ingredients

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup dried cherries, chopped
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until creamy. Add egg and vanilla, mix well.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, stirring until combined.
- Fold in dried cherries and chocolate chips.
- Drop tablespoon-sized dough onto the baking sheet, spacing 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges are set. Let cool on the sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
- Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
- For chewier cookies, slightly underbake.
- Substitute dried cherries with cranberries if needed.
