Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup chopped almonds

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, almond flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
  4. Alternately add the dry ingredients and milk to the butter mixture, starting and ending with dry ingredients.
  5. Fold in chopped almonds. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
