Description

These bakery-style chocolate babka muffins combine the rich flavors of chocolate babka in a convenient muffin form. You get swirls of chocolatey goodness in every bite.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix milk, oil, egg, and vanilla.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips.
  6. In a small bowl, mix cocoa powder, melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  7. Fill muffin cups halfway with batter, add a spoonful of chocolate mixture, then top with remaining batter.
  8. Swirl with a toothpick.
  9. Bake for 18-20 minutes.
  10. Cool before serving.
