Description
These bakery-style chocolate babka muffins combine the rich flavors of chocolate babka in a convenient muffin form. You get swirls of chocolatey goodness in every bite.

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
- In a large bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix milk, oil, egg, and vanilla.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
- Fold in chocolate chips.
- In a small bowl, mix cocoa powder, melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
- Fill muffin cups halfway with batter, add a spoonful of chocolate mixture, then top with remaining batter.
- Swirl with a toothpick.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes.
- Cool before serving.
Notes
- Do not overmix the batter.
- Check doneness with a toothpick.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
